The slander trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has been going on in Virginia for two weeks now. The actor has filed a $50 million lawsuit against his ex-wife for an opinion piece she published in The Washington Post in 2018 in which she claimed to have experienced domestic abuse.
The trial for Amber’s $100 million counterclaim is currently underway in Fairfax County Circuit Court. People are curious about the couple’s brief marriage, which ended after a year. Let’s take a peek inside the stars’ fairytale wedding in the Bahamas.
Johnny and Amber Wed in 2015
The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star and his future wife worked together on the set of the 2011 film The Rum Diary. The actor’s relationship with Vanessa Paradis was still going strong at the time. However, in 2012, they publicly announced that they were splitting up on good terms. Next, in February of 2015, they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at their Los Angeles residence. A week later, they took a trip to the Bahamas to reenact their fairytale wedding. Amber filed for divorce in May 2016, so the marriage obviously didn’t last. According to The Independent’s reporting, the actress gave “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
Inside Their Bahamas Wedding
Johnny and Amber’s wedding was a fairytale come true, and they invited only close family and friends to his private island in the Bahamas, Little Hall’s Pond Cay, for the ceremony. Johnny wore a white tuxedo and the actress wore a traditional white, long-sleeved wedding gown as they exchanged vows for a second time under a white arch on the beach.
The island that Johnny owns and keeps to himself is a tropical paradise. According to PEOPLE’s source, “wedding guests were treated to an amazing weekend that culminated in a romantic beach ceremony.” Relaxing on the beaches, going snorkeling, and dining on meals prepared by personal chefs were all highlights for our guests.

The Actor’s Private Island
They tied the knot on Johnny Depp‘s private island, which he purchased in 2004 for an eye-popping $3.6 million. In 2003, while filming Pirates of the Caribbean, he reportedly came across the breathtaking, wildlife-filled location. There was nothing at all built up on Little Hall’s Pond Caym, despite the island’s name.
only 45 acres, but it has six beautiful beaches that he named after his closest friends and family. This island in the Exumas archipelago, about 60 miles from Nassau, is completely solar-powered and dedicated to environmental sustainability.
