Burlsworth was a walk-on offensive tackle for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team who went on to become an All-American. He attended Harrison High School and earned a degree from the University of Arkansas.
Brandon has received numerous prizes, including a scholarship in his freshman year. In 1997 and 1998, he was granted All-SEC offensive guard honours, as well as All-American and all-conference recognition.

In 1999, Brandon’s family founded a charity in his honor. 2001 marked the publication of Eyes of a Champion, the Brandon Burlsworth Story. Greater, a film about his life, was released on August 26, 2016.
Before playing his final game, he became the first Arkansas Razorback football player to earn a master’s degree. Brandon was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft.

On April 28, 1999, Brandon Burlsworth was killed in an automobile accident. His truck collided with an incoming 18-wheeler, causing him to veer into his lane. He then struck another tractor-trailer head-on.
Brandon’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck the left front fender of a tractor-trailer for unclear reasons, according to the police report. After regaining its lane, the vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with a second tractor-trailer.
Burlsworth’s death was pronounced at the spot. He was on his way to attend church with his mother in Harrison, his hometown. He was returning from Fayetteville, where he attended the University of Arkansas.

The autopsy report of Brandon Burlsworth revealed additional information concerning his wounds and cause of death. On May 2, 1999, he was interred in Gass Cemetery, Omaha, Arkansas.
