Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the country’s top actresses. She is now preparing for the release of Shaakuntalam, her upcoming flick. Before the film’s release, the actress traveled to Mumbai for marketing.
Based on Kalidasa’s celebrated Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam, Shaakuntalam is written and directed by award-winning director Gunasekhar (Rudhramadevi), and produced by Neelima Guna and Dil Raju under the banners of Gunna Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions, respectively.
Dev Mohan also appears as Dushyanta, the monarch of the Puru Dynasty. While Shaakuntalam is ready to be released in theaters, Samatha addressed the much-discussed “North vs. South film” argument.
Throughout the years, the divide between North and South films has diminished, Samantha Ruth Prabhu told ANI “There is no longer a wall between North and South films. I do not wish to participate in a discussion about this. As an actor, it gives me great pleasure to work in films in multiple languages. Currently, audiences also watch films in multiple languages.”
Shakuntala and King Dushyant are portrayed by Sufiyum Sujaayum’s Samantha and Dev Mohan, respectively, in ‘Shaakuntalam’, which centers on their epic love tale.
It will be out in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The release date of the film is April 14, 2023. This mythological romantic drama will be released in the Indian languages of Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

In addition to the tale, the film has advanced graphics and special effects.” Sam highlighted her feelings about working with Dev Mohan “I am both excited and slightly anxious. The film’s budget is pretty expensive. But I believe the public will enjoy the film.”
