The second season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives arrives. Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Neelam Kothari, and Seema Kiran Sajdeh are the famous spouses of Bollywood actors Sanjay Kapoor, Chunky Panday, and Samir Soni.
Seema has been the target of online harassment ever since the show’s launch on Netflix last week when viewers began screaming that she was “no more a Bollywood wife” because of her separation from Sohail Khan.
Recently, in an interview with Indian Express, Seema fired back at the haters who have been questioning her continued participation in the show now that she is no longer a member of the exclusive club of Bollywood wives. Seema shot out with sarcasm, “I didn’t know women were defined by their spouses and their family name.
Seema Sajdeh is ‘No More a Bollywood Wife’ After Divorce from Sohail Khan
How much of a person do we get to know by looking at their profile picture alone? Meanwhile, in one episode, Seema replaces the ‘Khan’ nameplate with one reading ‘Seema, Nirvaan, Yohanan,’ reflecting her own family’s expansion. Maheep Kapoor also arranges for Seema to meet Sima Taparia of India Matchmaking in one of the episodes.
Soon after, Sima pressed Seema for details on why she and Sohail Khan had broken up. The designer went on to explain the split, citing ideological differences as the primary cause. She added that they haven’t spoken to each other in five years. Nirvaan and Yohan Khan are the children of Seema Sajdeh and Sohail Khan, who wed in 1998 and are now parents.
The couple’s 24-year marriage ended with a divorce petition filed earlier this year. Seema and Sohail’s distinct living arrangements were the first clue that something was up when they both appeared in the premiere season of Netflix’s The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
However, now that Seema Sajdeh is no longer one of the “Bollywood spouses,” the question was posed to her as to why she is still participating in the show. Seema smirked and responded sarcastically, “I didn’t know women were defined by their husbands and their last name.”
How much of a person do we get to know by looking at their profile picture alone? Seema Sajdeh was also seen on the television having a conversation with her son Nirvaan, age 21, regarding the divorce and her choice to remove Khan from her name. Seema says she hasn’t quite gotten used to the idea that her children won’t share her last name.
She tells Nirvaan, “A large part of me not going ahead is you.” as she explains why she hasn’t moved on with her life yet. She continues her monologue by telling the camera, “I know this is a new chapter in my life and I don’t know how it’s going to be.”
It’s a lot more intricate than that, believe me. When discussing the next season, Seema Sajdeh emphasized that women should embrace their forties because it is their golden decade. It’s the most carefree and enjoyable period of your life.
Be brave and go for it. According to Maheep Kapoor, viewers who “want drama, fun, emotions, and female companionship” should tune in. On the other side, hosts Neelam Kothari and Bhavana Pandey urged viewers to “not take the show very seriously.” Please join us in our fun and ride this roller coaster.
