The 18-year-Old MMA Star Victoria Lee Has Passed Away

Victoria Lee, a promising talent in mixed martial arts, died at the age of 18. Sunday, ONE Championship, a combat sports promotion company, confirmed her passing.

Lee, a native of Hawaii and the younger sister of ONE champions Angela Lee and Christian Lee, reportedly passed away on December 26. No cause of death has been disclosed. The ONE Championship spokesperson did not immediately react to a request for comment on Lee’s passing.

Saturday, Angela Lee, 26, first announced her sister’s passing via an Instagram post. She said that her family “experienced something no family should ever have to endure” on December 26.

“Our family has been profoundly crushed since her untimely passing,” Lee wrote of her younger sister. “We miss her. More than anything else in the universe. No longer will our family remain the same. Never again will life be the same. Victoria possessed the most beautiful soul ever to exist. She was the world’s best little sister.”

Victoria Lee, nicknamed “The Prodigy,” had a 3-0 record in atomweight bouts in 2021. Her most recent victory was a second-round technical knockout over Victoria Souza of Brazil in September 2021.

According to ONE, Lee halted her fighting career to focus on graduating high school, but she planned to compete again this year. She was apparently scheduled to compete on January 13 at ONE on Prime Video 6 in Bangkok.
