BCCI suspends Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul for misconduct in Koffee With Karan

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has sent suspension notices to cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. Pandya had made certain problematic comments on Koffee With Karan show.

The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) on behalf of the BCCI had sent these notes. BCCI has suspended the cricketers from participating in any activity organised until further inquiry.

The mails have briefed the two about the charges against them and how BCCI will conduct the proceedings.

The mails read, “You are aware that inquiry and proceedings against you for misconduct and indiscipline have been initiated under Rule 41 of the BCCI Constitution and the same are presently pending. In terms of Rule 41(6) of the BCCI Constitution, you are hereby suspended with immediate effect from participating in any manner whatsoever in any match or function or event or activity that is authorized, organized, sanctioned, recognized or supported in any way by the BCCI, the ICC or any State Association, until final adjudication of the matter.”

Even Hotstar, the platform that streams the talk show, has pulled the episode down from the website. Aired on January 6, the episode shows Hardik making certain remarks that were sexist, misogynist and racist.
