American singer and songwriter Nick Jonas has finally opened up regarding his engagement to the Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra in the recent episode of Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Until now, it was only his counterpart who had passed official statements on their marriage over the social media portals with Nick Jonas remaining silent throughout the events.

Following their decision to get engaged, the duo then participated in a Roka ceremony, which Nick stated to be a form of official consent from both families regarding their engagement.
“We both left that ceremony full of joy,” said Jonas, who added that his parents were extremely impressed by the get-together. In fact, they were on cloud nine when they got to witness the love showered by the public since the inception of the ceremony.
Difference in the style of engagement ceremonies
The singer who received immense public recognition for his album Last Year Was Complicated (2016) had never been a part of an Indian ceremony and had no clue as such regarding the paparazzi which would be following the duo on account of their engagement.
In fact, he found the entire turn of events and the media attention to be quite different from what he was habituated of witnessing back in New Jersey, where celebrities generally prefer a certain degree of privacy in the personal matters.
“For she and I, I think it was just nice to have that time with the family first. Have that private moment then be able to share with the world afterward,” said Jonas.
Nick’s parents delighted with their son’s engagement
More than the couple, it was their parents who felt deeply connected with each other during the spiritual ceremony.
“We had this beautiful ceremony and we felt so connected, our families all met, it was spiritual and then we put it on Instagram, we were like ‘Oh my God! It’s official,” the 25-year-old joked.
The celebrity couple has even decided to name themselves ‘Prick’, something which Jimmy Fallon straightaway asked them to abstain using from.
