Based on Jane Austen’s unfinished final novel, the popular historical drama unexpectedly reappeared for a second season earlier this year after being cancelled.
Due to the fact that the second and third seasons were shot simultaneously, there was no doubt that the show would return this time.
The Sanditon team published brand-new images of the third season’s returning characters a month ago, providing a tantalising glimpse.
Edward Davis (Emma, The Little Drummer Girl) joined the cast as Lord Montrose; PBS teased, “Who is this new mystery man?”
It won’t be long before we find out!
When’s the Season 3 Release Date?
Today, it was officially revealed that Sanditon will return to PB
S on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 9/8c.
Throughout March and April, new episodes will show every Sunday night.
Masterpiece noted on its Facebook page, “Return to Sanditon one final time for the final season, airing on MASTERPIECE on PBS on March 19.”

Charlotte Heywood, who appears serious in the 30-second clip, muses, “We can’t pick who we fall in love with…”
Rose Williams, who portrays Charlotte, has previously stated, “In Season 3, we see characters facing their own unique issues and having to dig deep within themselves to find resolution.”
She continued, “I hope they get together in the end and maybe even live happily ever after, as we’ve always wished for them to—an Austen-style conclusion with a bow.”
It is anticipated that BritBox would stream the third season of Sanditon in the United Kingdom on Mondays, just hours after the US premiere (or perhaps the newly-launched streaming service ITVX.)
Similar to the second season, Season 3 will premiere on ITV in the UK later in 2023, most likely in the summer.

Sanditon Season 3 Story
There is no official word regarding Sanditon’s third season. In Season 3, Charlotte and Colbourne’s relationship will be explored in greater depth, with a focus on their friendship throughout Season 2 and their kiss in the series finale. Charlotte is already engaged to another man, so there is obviously a catch.
According to Sanditon showrunner Justin Young, at the start of the third season, Charlotte is engaged to Ralph. “This much is certain: Colbourne loves her, and she loves him in return. But, she is currently engaged to Ralph. “How will things transpire?”
