The release date for Stranger Things seasons 4 is rapidly approaching. Or at least it is on the first date. Yes, the penultimate season of Netflix’s retro-thriller series is going to premiere, and we’ve got all the details. To begin, how do you feel about the name Vecna?
The most important thing to know about the last season of Stranger Things is that the next season’s big enemy, Vecna, was unveiled in the Stranger Things season 4 trailer. Vecna, unlike any other villain the kids have seen, appears to wield power the Upside-down and is issuing terrifying warnings.
Eleven is without her powers elsewhere in Stranger Things season 4, and this can’t continue if we’re going to survive. Dr. Sam Owens, played by Paul Reiser, has warned Eleven that her abilities are crucial to “winning this war.”
The second big announcement is that horror star Robert Englund (aka Freddy Krueger) will play Victor Creel, whose surname is linked to a very prominent (and highly haunted) home in Hawkins. Here’s how to watch Stranger Things season 4 online, including the first eight minutes of the new season.
Also, watch the final trailer, which ups the ante with more in the Upside Down and feels more like an action movie than any previous season.
When Will Stranger Things Season 4 Be Released?
Stranger Things Season 4 will be split into two parts. The first installment, dubbed Volume One, will premiere on Friday, May 27th, 2022, at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. GMT and will consist of seven episodes.
The second half, Volume Two, will arrive a little later, on Friday, July 1st, 2022, at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 7 AM GMT, and will contain the final two episodes of the fourth season.
If we had to guess, the first volume will most likely end on a major cliffhanger, leaving us with a month to wait to see how the fourth season will conclude. All of these episodes will be available exclusively on Netflix once they are released.
Season 4 of Stranger Things Stars:
We have a detailed cast and character guide for Stranger Things season 4 so you can get caught up. But expect to see Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Max (Sadie Sink), and Will (Will Ferrell) (Noah Schnapp).
Sink just told the press that Stranger Things Season 4 will have the largest “stakes” the show has ever had. We’re not sure if this signifies That Upside Down is becoming a global threat or something else.
Steve (Joe Keery), (Natalia Dyer), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), and Robin (Maya Hawke), as well as Joyce (Winona Ryder, one of our picks for best TV parents) and Hopper, will all return.
There’s also no reason to believe that Erica (Priah Ferguson), Karen (Cara Buono), and Murray will not appear in Stranger Things season 4. (Brett Gelman).
Variety has confirmed the addition of eight additional cast members, beginning with horror legend Robert Englund. Yes, the creator of Freddy Krueger will appear on Stranger Things. Englund is playing “Victor Creel, a disturbed and imposing guy who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a terrible murder in the 1950s,” according to the source.
The other three new series regulars are Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd), Eduardo Franco (Booksmart), and Joseph Quinn (Catherine the Great). Bower will play Peter Ballard, a psychiatric hospital employee, while Franco will play Argyle, Jonathan’s new best buddy, a pizza delivery man who also enjoys marijuana. Quinn? Eddie Munson is the next character we’ll meet.
Other new features include: Dmitri, a Russian jail guard, is played by Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones), and Lt. Colonel Sullivan, played by Sherman Augustus (Into the Badlands), who is out to rid Hawkins of evil for good. Jason Carver, the privileged kid at school, is played by Mason Dye (Bosch). Carver has a seemingly perfect existence that is about to be ripped apart by something inexplicable, in true Hawkins fashion. Yuri, a Russian smuggler, is played by Nikola Djuricko (Genius).
The Duffer brothers unveiled four new cast members for Stranger Things season 4 at Netflix’s Geeked Week. Amybeth McNulty, star of Anne With an E!, leads the group (another Netflix show). Vickie, a cool, fast-talking band nerd who attracts the attention of one of our favorite characters, is played by her.

Stranger Things Season 4 Plot and Theories:
Many thought that “The American” who the Russians said was being held in one of their base’s rooms (one of which also had a Demogorgon) was Dr. Martin Brenner. However, the return of Hopper leads us to believe otherwise.
The program will very certainly need to use a plot element to entice the Byers family back to Hawkins from their new house.
Season 4 will “expand up a little bit…not necessarily in terms of scope, in terms of special effects, but open up in terms of letting plotlines into regions outside of Hawkins,” according to The Duffers.
That makes us dubious the show will end without a trip back to the beginning.
In an interview with Teen Vogue, Sadie Sink revealed that her character Max will likely spend some time hiding the trauma of her brother Billy’s death: “I think it makes sense for her because, as messed up as their relationship was, [Billy’s death] still has a significant impact on her family dynamic. However, in classic Max manner, she won’t let others see how she’s truly feeling at times. You watch her acting as if everything is OK while, in fact, everything has changed for her. She’s in an entirely different state of mind.”
