The highly anticipated film “Cobra,” starring Kollywood superstar Vikram, has finally hit theaters. R. Ajay Gnanamuthu, whose previous directing credits include the critically acclaimed hits Demonte Colony and Imaikkaa Nodigal, takes the helm for the third time with the action thriller Cobra. The movie was first announced in May of 2019 with the working title Vikram 58; the final title wasn’t revealed until December.
Even though Chennai was where most of the action took place, scenes were also shot in Kerala, Kolkata, and Russia. Irfan Pathan, Srinidhi Shetty, and Roshan Matthews also star in the R Ajay Gnanamuthu-directed psychological action thriller. Despite the film’s lackluster reception at the box office, its digital debut should help it find a wider audience.
Cobra is the story of a mathematical genius who is also an assassin, according to the tweet announcing the OTT release. The film stars Chiyaan Vikram and Srinidhi Shetty and features terrific music by AR Rahman. Beginning September 28th, you can watch it on SonyLIV.

#Cobra [3/5] :
1st Half is a high voltage action thriller..
2nd half gets complex..@chiyaan Vikram 's fine acting makes it watchable.. 👌
3 hrs+ is too lengthy..
Still, watch it for @chiyaan and for the grand scale of execution..

It was released in around 800 theaters in Tamil Nadu, 265 screens in Kerala, and in around 450 theaters in Telugu states. ‘Cobra’ Box Office Collection Day 1
Starring Vikram and Srinidhi Shetty, “Cobra” was one of 2022’s most anticipated films and had its world premiere on August 31. In theaters for the first time in three years, the actor’s return to the big screen was met with much fanfare and anticipation.
Vikram’s fans were in a frenzy even though the first screening didn’t begin until 4 in the morning. Early reactions were positive but opinions began to diverge as the day went on. Reservations and early sales indicated the first-day gross in the low hundreds of thousands.
Except for #ChiyaanVikram's performance and few scenes there is nothing much for the audience. Length and shabby screenplay has affected it. A let down for the big expectation.
