As a result of his involvement in several high-profile scandals following the #MeToo movement, Sajid Khan has been largely absent from the public eye. Several of Sajid’s female coworkers made sexual harassment claims against him. The Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) had banned him from directing films due to these serious allegations.

A number of women, including actors Mandana Karimi, Saloni Chopra, Rachel White, Simran Suri, Marina Kunwar, Aahana Kumra, Dimple Paula, Sherlyn Chopra, and journalist Karishma Upadhyay, have accused Sajid of sexual misconduct. In an interview with the BBC for the documentary Death in Bollywood, Karishma Khan, the sister of the late actor Jiah Khan, also accused the director of sexually abusing Jiah Khan.
Due to the sexual charges against him, Sajid Khan was requested to withdraw from the upcoming Housefull 4 (2019), which would have marked his return to the film industry. Despite this, Sajid was nevertheless credited as a writer on the film.
