Facebook India appoints Ajit Mohan as new VP and MD
On Monday, Facebook India decided to make a change in their Board of Directors. Facebook India appoints Ajit Mohan as the Managing Director and Vice President of the company. Ajit Mohan is currently the CEO of Hotstar and will join Facebook early next year. Mohan is the first Indian Facebook leader reporting to Menlo Park and not Asia Pacific. The CEO of Star India Uday Shankar announced this development in the company town hall.

Ajit Mohan is an alumnus of McKinsey and Company’s New York office. He worked with media companies around the globe as well as served as a Fellow at the McKinsey Global Institute. Mohan has been instrumental in launch and growth of Hotstar in India. Ajit will succeed Umang Bedi as the Managing Director who left Facebook in October last year.

Ajit Mohan will start his term early next year and will be reporting to Menlo Park and not to Asia Pacific.
