A few weeks later, Donald helped the Rams beat the Arizona Cardinals and was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time in his career.
He was already in hot water when his unsportsmanlike conduct during a game versus the Lions resulted in an $18,000 punishment. Donald had 47 tackles and eight sacks towards the end of the regular season. Donald had a successful 2017 despite missing the first few games of the season because of a contract issue. He was selected to the Pro Bowl and to the first team of All-Pros, and he was also given the award of NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
In 2018, Donald enjoyed his greatest year as a Ram. He had 17 tackles and eight sacks in the month of October, earning him the title of NFC Defensive Player of the Month. The following week, in Week 16, Donald recorded three sacks in a victory over the Cardinals, bringing his season total to 19.5 sacks, which at the time was a record. Aaron Donald Signs Deal
In the previous deal, Aaron Donald was guaranteed a total of $52.25 million over the course of three years. The new terms of the agreement will see him receive $95 million throughout the same time frame. He may earn $31.5 million this year and $28.5 million next year, for a grand total of $60 million. Additionally, $5,000,000 is assured for 2023.
Depending on how he feels in 2024, he can either retire or come back for more. If he comes back, the team has already committed $35 million more to him. With this addition, the grand total is now $95 million. The agreement also contains a no-trade clause. During the next three years, just seven players in the NFL will earn $95 million or more, and they are all quarterbacks.

Given his current market value, Aaron Donald’s wealth is only expected to grow rapidly over the next few years.
