Olivia Newton-John was born in Cambridge, England, in 1948, and she and her family emigrated to Melbourne, Australia, when she was five years old. Olivia Newton John’s Career
Johnnie formed the short-lived all-girl ensemble Sol Four with three fellow high school students four years before Elton John & The Supremes were formed. Her appearances as “Lovely Livvy” on Time for Terry and HSV-7’s The Happy Show propelled her to fame in her native Australia. In addition, she was featured on the show The Go!!
There, she met singer Pat Carroll, who would become her future husband, and music producer John Farrar, who would produce some of her earliest recordings. After seeing her perform “Anyone Who Had a Heart” and “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” Johnny O’Keefe invited her to appear on his 1960s Australian variety show Sing, Sing, Sing.
Nearly a year after winning a trip to the United Kingdom, she finally decided to take advantage of the reward after being persuaded to do so by her mother. Newton-first John’s single, “Till You Say You’ll Be Mine,” was published by Decca Records in the United Kingdom in 1966. While in the UK, Newton-John found herself longing for the company of Australian actor Ian Turpie, who she had previously worked with on the set of the film Funny Things Happen Down Under.
She tried to return to Australia multiple times, but her mother always canceled her reservations. John Newton’s outlook on life transformed once Pat Carroll was transferred to the UK. Pat and Olivia were a popular act that toured European nightclubs together.

Personal Life
While she was engaged to Bruce Welch, who had produced some of her music and co-written the song “Please Mr. Please,” he attempted suicide. After meeting businessman Lee Kramer in 1973, who would eventually become her manager, Newton-John stayed with him for the majority of the 1970s.
Despite this, she has described their marriage as “one continuous break.” She wed her Xanadu co-star, Matt Lattanzi, in 1984, and the couple eventually had a daughter named Chloe Rose (born in 1986). In 1995, they officially ended their marriage and divorced.
Olivia’s long-term boyfriend of over a decade, cameraman/gaffer Patrick McDermott, disappeared in 2005 while the two were fishing off the coast of California. The legend goes that years ago McDermott pretended to die and then relocated to Mexico.

Olivia sold Don Hankey, a tycoon in the auto lending industry, a breathtaking Malibu seaside mansion in 2005 for an undisclosed sum. The value of this house maybe $80 million or more now. Olivia invested $4.69 million to buy a 12-acre horse ranch in Santa Inez, California, in 2015.
She put the house on the market in May of 2019 for $5.4 million. During the same month, Newton-John also put up for sale her Australian ranch for $5. 5 million. The 187-acre Australian estate she now owns was purchased in the early 1980s. She is also the proud owner of multiple Florida homes.
