One police officer was killed and another was injured on Sunday when militants attacked a Naka Party in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir who had been tasked with protecting the homes of Kashmiri Pandit families. Pinglana is located in the South Kashmir District, where the attack on the J&K police and CRPF team reportedly occurred.

The police say they sent in reinforcements and sealed off the area. Javed Ahmed Dar was the police officer who was killed in the attack.
Since there are some Kashmiri Pandit families living in the area, the police say they sent out a Naka Party to ensure their safety.
A tweet from former chief minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack and offered condolences to the family of the J&K police officer who was killed while doing his job. In addition, I hope that the CRPF personnel who were hurt make a full recovery as soon as possible.”
