Parents who don’t make their kids wear seatbelts run the severe risk of serious harm, even death, as well as facing a hefty fine.
The warning was issued as a result of the Department of Transportation’s report on seatbelt usage, which revealed that 24% of fatal car occupants were not restrained.
In light of the fact that kids are known to go through phases of clicking and releasing their seatbelts, Gary Digva, the inventor of mobile GPS for vehicles expert Snooper, advised parents to drive with extra caution.
Parents Face Hefty Fines
The use of a seatbelt is mandated by law when riding in a car. Any passenger who is younger than 14 must be properly restrained by the driver.
If they don’t, the driver may be punished for each minor passenger who isn’t buckled up, and if the matter ends up in court, drivers may be subject to fines of up to $500.
However, both drivers and elderly passengers may be subject to fines. Any motorist or passenger above the age of 14 who is found without buckled up can be fined $100 on the spot.
According to the legislation, it is the driver’s duty to make sure that children are properly restrained in a car seat until they reach the height requirement of 135 cm or turn 12 years old.

How to Make Sure Your Child Wears a Seatbelt?
