Hyperdrive Season 1 Recap
28 competitors from all over the world race around a specially designed “Hyperdrive” course, dodging obstacles and performing complex maneuvers. The number of competitors is whittled down throughout the season until only six remain, and the winner of this competition is given the title of Hyperdrive champion.
The Hyperdrive course is a drifting track with a customizable number of obstacles that must be navigated in the correct order. There are hard, immovable parts to each obstacle that must be avoided or smashed. There are time penalties for breaking the rules of the obstacle or for hitting the target illegally. For the first four episodes, contestants compete in qualifying rounds, where they face five or six challenges in an effort to advance.
Every week, the top three finishers (including those who didn’t make it to the end) advance to the final round, while the bottom three (including those who didn’t make it at all) are eliminated. Each week for the next three episodes, a new set of four to six competitors takes the place of the ones who advanced or were eliminated, and they compete against the six companies who placed fourth through ninth in the previous episode.
This continues until all 12 qualification spots have been filled. Twelve competitors advance to the knockout rounds, where the stakes are raised and the challenges increase in complexity. At the end of each of the first three elimination rounds, the two slowest competitors advance to the wild card round. A head-to-head race must be held between the two competitors who are tied for second place behind the slowest competitor; the winner of this race advances automatically to the next round.

Hyperdrive Season 2: Plot
The show primarily focuses on top-tier street racers from around the world as they push their supercharged custom cars to the limit. To test its limits, it tackled the world’s toughest road course for cars. That being said, the vast majority of the world’s best elite and professional racers will show up to fulfill the tasks set forth by the event’s organizers.
Multiple vehicles built for the purpose will be used to scan the area for potential hazards. As for season 2, there have been some rumored time frames. That’s a problem because it means there’ll be more content coming out to keep up the momentum from season one. There has been no official word on when the second season of Hyperdrive will debut on Netflix, but a trailer or teaser has been released.
Overall, Season 2 is worthy of your high anticipation. Most difficult obstacles and courses put drivers’ skills behind the wheel of a racing vehicle to the ultimate test. What’s New for Hyperdrive Season 2?
Even though everyone agrees that Season 1 was a huge success, there is no doubt that the team can do even better in Season 2. We anticipate that the same New York City location from Season 1 will be used for Season 2, but the vast parking lot provides the ideal blank canvas for the production team to build an even more impressive high-adrenaline stage.
The difficult and technical obstacles encountered in Season 1 were easily overcome by vehicles with drift and Gymkhana builds. While drag cars were featured early on in the series, it soon became bizarrely obvious that they were doomed to fail when faced with the various tight and technical obstacles that each track layout presented.
We feel that the spots could’ve had cars that were far more suited to the various tricky tasks, but this may be attributable to a lack of knowledge on the part of the production team or simply their efforts to make for an entertaining storyline.
