SRH got the better of the in-form KKR by ensuring a 13 run victory against them in the battle for final. They will now be facing the most consistent team of the IPL- the Chennai Super Kings in the most awaited battle of the season. SRH have lost to CSK for 3 times in this season and will do whatever it takes to ensure a victory
Well, Kane Williamson and their head coach Tom Moody will look to make few changes in their side before taking on an experienced lineup of Chennai Super Kings. They won’t leave any stone unturned to overcome one final hurdle on their road to success.
Let’s look at the 3 changes that SRH will make before taking on the Dhoni’s Super Kings in the final faceoff
Sandeep Sharma IN, Khaleel Ahmed OUT
Khaleel Ahmed put up a shoddy performance with the ball against KKR in the Qualifier-2 match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. He wasn’t able to have a control over his nerves and got his line and length completely wrong throughout the game. His dismal performance couldn’t create the necessary pressure on the opposition batsmen.
He had to incur the wrath of Nitish Rana as he smacked him for 2 sixes in an over. His poor piece of fielding on a couple of occasions in the game also didn’t go unnoticed.
Sandeep Sharma, on the other hand, had been bowling pretty well and it was a shock to see him sit out on an event as big as the Qualifier-2. Kane Williamson would surely require his services with the swing bowling and may play a vital role in the night of the final.
SRH will have to strike hard on CSK with their winning combination if they want to get an upper hand on the kings of IPL and bringing in Sandeep, might just be the right option.
Shreevats Goswami IN, Yusuf Pathan OUT
The right arm aggressive batsman Yusuf Pathan has been a flop show for the franchise this season. He has given away his wickets to the opposition bowling on many occasions where his presence could have changed the course of the game. Yusuf might have been a match winner for Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural edition, but over the years has completely lost the touch with his bat.
It’s time now for the Hyderabad franchise to bring in Shreevats Goswami in place of a rusty Yusuf. His wicket-keeping prowess is what the team needs at the moment more than his batting ability. Even Wriddhiman Saha who made a comeback into the team following an injury has shown some extremely poor piece of wicket-keeping in their game against KKR. He dropped 2 vital catches of Andre Russell and Chris Lynn which could have been fatal for the team.
Shreevats Goswami could be turn out to be a match-winner against CSK in the final face-off of the season.
Mohammad Nabi IN, Carlos Braithwaite OUT
Though Carlos hasn’t performed poorly, he remains as the weak link in the SRH bowling attack. He might have taken wickets in succession in tonight’s game against KKR, but leaked runs in the first over. Also, as Chennai Super Kings have seen in his action on many occasions, they would have devised some strategy on him by now that could get him off to expensive spells with the ball and also curb his pinch hitting abilities while batting.
Nabi’s inclusion will be a surprise element against CSK. His all-round abilities can be something skipper Williamson might want to use against the Dhoni’s super kings in the final faceoff.
