Indian team has finally announced an 18-man squad for the first three games against England. This is quite strange, keeping in mind that India generally opts in for a 15-16 man unit. Nevertheless, India would have to deliver results regardless of the number of players they rope in. Afterall, a win is what any team craves for while making any major or minor changes to their side. Well, out of those 18-man squad, there are 3 Indian players who would hold the key for India’s victories in the test matches on their maiden tour to England.
So, let’s have a look at those 3 Indian players who will be playing test matches for the 1st time in England
The Karnataka lad has been one of the default choices for team India, since his debut against Australia in the longer format of the game.
With Murali Vijay being a confirmed a seat in the playing XI, it would be either KL or Shikhar Dhawan who would make their presence felt in the 2nd slot. Or, it could happen that KL gets to don the Number 3 position in the test matches on the basis of his performance in the T20i series against England.
KL is one of those players who possess the talent, temperament and finesse to play amongst all the formats of the game with equal finesse. Despite his lack of experience while playing in the swinging conditions, KL seems to be the best choice for the opening slot.
How he takes on the likes of Broad and Anderson will be a contest worth witnessing.

The left arm chinaman is regarded as the most feared man in the English conditions. Following his single-handed victories over the English unit in the 1st ODI and T20i, he will be looked upon as a probable choice in the playing XI if the situation and the pitch reports say so.
He would be playing alongside Jadeja and Ashwin who already possess sufficient experience of the red ball cricket. Especially, Ashwin could help him in giving some important inputs for the game, taking into the that he had a terrific county season and by now he would have received considerable experience out of it.
Also, with the pitches turning dry this summer, a spin trio of Kuldeep, Jadeja, and Ashwin would certainly make matters worse for the England team.

The toe-crushing yorker specialist made his test debut this year against the might Proteans. Despite India losing the series by 2-1, Jasprit Bumrah received all praise from the cricket fanatics for his splendid performances with the ball in the longer format of the game.
Bumrah’s injury might have upset the Indian unit, considering his presence was extremely crucial for the Men in Blue to register a victory in the ODI competitions. Also, he won’t be a part of the playing XI for the first contest which would be played at Edgbaston, so it adds all the more pressure and frustration over the Indian unit as to which bowler they would reach out to for quick wickets in the sessions.
We can only hope for these 3 Indian players to perform well in the English conditions. They are the ones who could make a difference in the outcome of the 5-match contests.
