With Steve Smith now replaced by Rahane as the Rajasthan’s captain, there are rumors about David Warner being sacked from Sunrisers captaincy as well. Either that , or he himself will step down from the captaincy.
Warner has always been an example for his team members as well for the other franchise players. David Warner has proved himself time and again that he is someone the team can rely on in tough situations. Dhawan can be a potential replacement for Warner
Shikhar Dhawan has been with the franchise for a long time. He was retained by the Sunrisers in the IPL mega auctions. Dhawan and Warner form a highly destructive opening pair and they have been involved in many watch winning partnerships.
Till date, Dhawan has amassed 3561 runs in the 127 games that he has played so far. Dhawan is also one of the most experienced players of the franchise. Through his performances, he has managed to be one of the top contenders for the orange cap .
Dhawan has been an integral part of the Hyderabad based franchise since 2012. He knows the pitch conditions of Hyderabad better than any player. His experience as a top order batsman for SRH along with his associations with Warner might help him in captaining the side in IPL.
It would be interesting to watch Dhawan donning the captain’s role and deploying match winning tactics to win the game for SRH.

Shakib Al Hasan might fill in Warner’s shoes
We all know the talent and experience Shakib Al Hasan brings in to the table. He is one of the best all rounders of the game in all 3 formats ( ODI ,Test , T20i) . Shakib is also the captain of the Bangladesh team in all 3 formats which makes him a strong contender for Warner’s position.
In the 43 matches that he has played so far, he has picked up 43 wickets and scored 498 runs with a strike rate of 130.36 . Shakib is a player worth watching. He has the potential to steal quick singles and doubles or go down the crease and smash the opposition bowlers for big hits at any point of the game.
Shakib being an excellent turner of the ball , can easily stop the flow of runs or dry up the run rate when needed. He is a partnership breaker who can be very lethal for the new batsmen.
Shakib has evolved from a player to a match winning cricketer, someone who can mould according to the situation. He was instrumental behind KKR’s IPL victories in 2012 and 2014. If given a chance, Shakib is someone who can really turn the course of the game.
Kane Williamson as the perfect candidate to lead the SRH
At 27, Kane Williamson has proved himself as one of the leading cricketers of the modern era. Being the captain of the New Zealand team and also the youngest member of the Fab-Four, Williamson would be the automatic choice for the captain of SRH.
The vast experience , knowledge and skill that he possess at such an early age is really commendable. He has scored 411 runs in the 15 matches that he has played so far with a strike rate of 130.
Williamson has impressed the franchise owners and the cricket fans in whatever limited opportunities that have been offered to him. In the previous season of IPL , he had scored 256 runs in 7 games that he played, with a strike rate of 151. Though he has only played 3 seasons till date, he is someone whom the team can look up to as a captain figure.
