There have been instances in the game of cricket when Batsmen had dominated a particular venue by their performance. If we talk about the ODI format of the game, then it could be the maximum runs scored, batting average, most sixes, most hundreds , most not outs by a batsman at a particular venue.
Let us have a look at some of the legends of the game who hold the record for most ODI hundreds at a particular venue.
Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah : 7 Hundreds
Well ,if we are talking about cricket, then the little master can’t be left behind. Sachin Tendulkar, The God of Cricket seems to hold 50-60 percent of the cricketing records under his name .
If you ask Tendulkar fans, what pushed Sachin leaps and bounds ahead of other cricketers of his era, the answer would be – his knocks at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The superstar of cricket, Sachin seemed to have some special fondness towards Sharjah stadium. Back in 1998, when he was at the peak of his career, he had smashed 9 hundreds in an year. A record still untouched by cricketers all across the world.
What’s special about those knocks is that out of those 9 hundreds , 4 came at Sharjah in the year 1998 against Australia ( 143 and 134 )in the Coca-Cola cup and against Zimbabwe( 118* and 124*).
In total , he played 42 games at Sharjah where he struck 1778 runs , not to forget his innings of 112* and 101 against Srilanka and 118 against Pakistan.
What’s amazing is that 6 of his 7 hundreds came in winning cause for India and he was the Man of the Match in those matches where he reached the triple figure mark at Sharjah.
Melbourne Cricket Ground , Melbourne – 7 Hundreds
Ricky Ponting, perhaps the 2nd greatest batsman from Australia after Sir Don Bradman was the undisputed king of MCG.
The former Australian captain had a terrific record when playing at MCG. In the 41 ODIs that he played there, he had 7 hundreds and 15 fifties which shows his liking towards that ground. The 2nd match that he played at MCG , he ended up scoring a hundred.

Dilshan being a middle order batsman in the initial part of his career , very quickly adapted to the opener’s role. He found a strange affection towards the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium where he notched up a mammoth 144 against Zimbabwe in the 2011 World Cup.
This performance was followed by his 119* against the rivals Pakistan in the same year .
