Reaching the 10000 runs milestone in ODI cricket is not everyone’s cup of tea. Only 11 players till date have made it to the list of 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. It is pretty evident that in order to make it to that list one needs to play that many games with high consistency and fitness.
The players who have made it to the list, have hung up their boots long ago. But , at present , there are some players who are about to reach that 10,000 runs milestone. With average of more than 50 in the shorter format of the game, they are the Legends of ODI cricket.
Let us have a look at those players who can get featured in that list in the year 2018-
Virat Kohli – The King Of ODI cricket
Kohli is currently going through the form of his life. At 29, he has already left behind many legends of the game in terms of runs , average, strike rate and not to forget the centuries. He’s second to master blaster Sachin Tendulkar in terms of ODI hundreds.
An ODI average of 58.11, 35 hundreds , strike rate of 92.15 and 9588 runs in a span of 10 years has put him in the list of all time legends. The kind of fitness and diet regime that he follows is also something worth noticing.
His never ending thirst for the runs has made him the champion that he is. Kohli is a perfect blend of aggression , passion and dedication .He has a strong chance of surpassing Sachin Tendulkar in terms of ODI hundreds. Looks like the ODI series against England might make his entry into the 10,000 run club.

MS Dhoni – The Best Finisher of the game
A man who doesn’t need any description. MS Dhoni, the greatest finisher of the game is the only captain to have won all the ICC trophies in a span of 6 years. He has 9967 runs in the ODI format , thus short of just 33 runs for the 10,000 run mark.
Well ,there are strong chances that he may complete his 10,000 runs against England in the month of july. A very hard hitter of the ball, Dhoni , could have easily crossed that landmark years ago if he would have promoted himself up the order. Nevertheless, it hardly makes any difference to the Captain Cool.

Hashim Amla – The Run Machine
Amla is someone who doesn’t receive the required adulation. He is a calm and composed person , probably another individual in this list who has no haters. His stats speak the volumes of success he has achieved over the years.
In the 164 matches that he has played , he has amassed 7535 ODI runs , at an average of 50.23 with a strike rate of 88.49 . He is the fastest cricketer to reach 26 hundreds in ODI cricket.
