After 8 weeks of high octane breathtaking performances, SRH will be finally locking horns with CSK in one final duel of the season. SRH led by Kane Williamson have already lost to CSK for three times in this season and wouldn’t want to make it a fourth considering the scintillating performances SRH bowling attack has displayed throughout the tournament.
SRH possesses some of the fiercest and deadliest bowlers who have on numerous occasions turned the tides in their favor, narrowly escaping the jaws of defeat. They will be taking on the most consistent team in the history of T20 cricket who have managed to reach the playoffs in every edition of the game. It won’t be a walk in the park for SRH to bring down CSK, taking into account CSK’s experience of playing under such situations.
Both the teams will be involved in one final clash that will determine which side will get their hands on the trophy in this edition of IPL.
let’s predict how the game might turn out based on the current set of players both the teams possess!
Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
If SRH bats first: Predicted score 150+
SRH has been relying on top order batsmen to get them off to decent totals throughout the season. Their middle order has been failing them for quite some time and hasn’t been consistent with the way they should have played. Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson have been shouldering the entire responsibility of the batting unit since the start of the season and will be expected to continue the same in the final face-off as well.
If the Sunrisers are to win in tonight’s clash for the final the rest of the team would have to don the role of match winners as well.
The likes of Deepak Hooda, Shakib Al Hasan, Yusuf Pathan etc will have to put up supporting roles that can steer them to a victory against the Dhoni’s super kings. At this point when it’s all or none, SRH wouldn’t want to commit any mistake that takes away their chance of a sure-shot victory over the kings of IPL.
If CSK bats first: Predicted score 160+
Well, if CSK are to reach a good total, then the top order must come out magnificently in tonight’s game. Ambati Rayudu might have to open up the innings for their team as he has had a terrific season at the top order. Plus his experience of playing at the top order in this edition of IPL might give him an advantage over the death-over specialist Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.
With players like Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo forming a solid middle order unit, the bowling attack of SRH might get some troubles in the middle and last overs. If these men get into their hard-hitting mode then it might be difficult for SRH to contain them no matter what tactics they deploy to contain them to low totals.
CSK will have to devise some strategies to get over his swing bowling in the initial overs of the game and at the same time they wouldn’t resort to an over-cautious style of cricket considering it’s the night of the finals and you are competing against a side which possesses some of the best batsmen and pinch hitters of the game.
Sunrisers Hyderabad might have had a terrific campaign this season, taking into account that they lost their most successful player David Warner following his involvement in the sandpaper-gate scandal. But, the way Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson has regrouped the side and led their way to the finals has been worth applauding. Nobody would have expected the Sunrsiers to play the kind of cricket they’ve played this season to steer into the finals.
Still, it’s a long way for them as they will compete against a team that knows the ins and outs of the format and have been successful in making it to the apex again and again. CSK will surely be a tough side to take on and with the legendary set of players, it seems impossible for SRH to get the better of the Chennai based franchise in the battle of the season.
