SRH taking on the KKR will surely be one battle that the fans from both the franchise will remember for the seasons to come. The outcome of the high octane duel between SRH and KKR will give the winner an entry into the finals to fight it out for one last time against the Kings of IPL – Chennai Super Kings.
SRH having lost to CSK in the Qualifier-1, still have a chance of bouncing back to the finals and taking on the mighty Super Kings. But it won’t be a walk in the park for them as they will be facing KKR, that possesses a batting unit that has brought tears into the eyes of the bowlers.
KKR will go all attack on SRH’s top class bowling unit led by spin wizard Rashid Khan, death over specialist Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and experienced Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Not to forget KKR’s spin trio Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav and Piyush Chawla and the damage they can inflict onto the opposition. They look in great form as well and were responsible for spinning the game away from Rajasthan Royals in their Eliminator game at Eden Gardens.
Both sides have sufficient firepower and are geared up for a mega battle that will completely crush one team’s hopes of competing against the Kings.
let’s look at today’s SRH vs KKR game predictions and know which side has a greater chance of a win
Venue: Eden Gardens, Kolkata
If SRH bats first: Predicted score 160+
SRH might have been brilliant with the bowl throughout the season but their batting has been giving them headaches for some time now. They have been over-relying on the top order batsmen to get off to a good total. As a matter of fact, Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan have raked in more than a 1000 runs combined.
Dhawan who got out on the very first ball of the innings will try to be highly cautious with the bat this time now. He will look forward to settling down in the middle and then unleashing a carnage onto the KKR bowlers. Kane Williamson has been the lone warrior from the Hyderabad camp. He has shouldered the responsibility of the entire batting unit throughout this edition of IPL.
Middle order a concern for SRH
Middle order comprising of Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, Shakib Al Hasan has been a problem for SRH. Their inconsistent knocks on many occasions proved fatal for SRH and they ended up losing matches in successions. The trio hasn’t clicked in this IPL which has been an alarming issue for the SRH.
Manish Pandey has been a complete flop show this season. Even after having played so much T20 cricket, he struggled to score runs in the middle and put up dismal performances on a frequent basis. Yusuf Pathan also hasn’t been in great touch with the bat and has crossed the margin of 40 runs on just 2 occasions.
The only positive that SRH’s batting unit seemed to have witnessed in the last few games would be that of Carlos Braithwaite in the match against CSK. If it wasn’t for his contribution, SRH wouldn’t have crawled their way up to even 139.
If KKR bats first: Predicted score 170+
KKR’s top order has been one of the destructive batting lineups in this edition of IPL. Both the openers have been destructive with the bat and managed to deploy some serious carnage over the opposition in many pressure situations. Though Sunil Narine took the attack onto the opposition bowlers in almost every game, Chris Lynn had to struggle it out on few occasions.
What has concerned the KKR, is the form of Robin Uthappa, their most experienced player. He hasn’t been able to time the ball well this season. Tonight’s game being a must-win for KKR, Robin would have to don the role of a match winner, the way he was back in 2014.
Dinesh Karthik is probably going through the form of his life. He has been really magnificent in this edition both as a skipper as well as a finisher. Andre Rusell has yet again proved his worth to the franchise with his all-round abilities. The West Indian muscle has been completely ruthless on the bowlers and his knock of 49 off 25 balls helped KKR in putting up a decent total.
