Team India player ratings have seen a sudden upward trend following their brutal win at Bristol to seal off the T20i series in the English soil. The players would surely eye for the ODI and test series as well to create history, in what is generally not a walk in the park for any cricket playing nation.
Team India player ratings after the series-deciding contest at Bristol
Rohit Sharma ( 9/10)
Aala Re Aala, Apna Hitman Aala !
Hitman of the Indian cricket arrived in style at just the right moment to send the English bullies running for covers in the final T20i contest. A stupendous piece of cricket from his end ensured the team’s victory in the end.
Had he not anchored the innings from one end, the Indian team would have surely cried their way back to the hotel. Kudos to Rohit Sharma!
Shikhar Dhawan (1/10)
If Gabbar sticks to this form of cricket, BCCI would have to axe him from the upcoming tours and bring in Ajinkya Rahane as a replacement.
T20i matches against Ireland seemed to be the only instance in last 15-20 days when he last contributed to the Indian total. Hopefully, Dhawan gets back his mojo before the ODI series.
KL Rahul ( 4/10)
The series might have given him all the name and recognition, yet, the 3rd T20i wasn’t the best you expect from a player of his prowess. He certainly can be a force to reckon with in the ODI series though.
Virat Kohli (7/10)
King Kohli’s aggressive knock was one of the reasons why India managed to chase up the mighty total. Though we all wanted him to stay a bit longer in the crease to scale up another half-century in the T20i contest, a 43 wasn’t too bad either.
Hardik Pandya (9/10)
He was just sensational in the way he exhibited his all-round prowess. Without his blistering innings of 33 of 14 deliveries, Indian team would have found themselves in unpleasant situations in the later stages of the contest.
Though his initial over with the ball was a disaster, the way he bounced back into the scene with 4 wickets in 3 overs to finish off with 38-4 was perhaps the backdrop of the swash-buckling duel.
Suresh Raina( 3/10)
Raina might not have got the opportunity to score in the final game, yet, based on his mediocre performances in the previous games, a 3 on 10 is perhaps more than enough.
He would have to level up by hook, or by crook for the upcoming series!
MS Dhoni( 8/10)
The final match witnessed many records getting shattered from Dhoni’s end. Mahi, as usual, held his calm and composed stature throughout the series and contributed whenever possible with the bat and with the gloves.
A legend of the sport!
Kuldeep Yadav( 6/10)
The spin wizard got dropped in the final game following his disastrous spell in the 2nd t20i which paved way for newcomers to come and get a taste of the exhilarating contest. But, no one can deny the fact, that he single-handedly spun the game in India’s favour while decimating the Englishmen in the 1st T20i game.
Yuzvendra Chahal( 6/10)
The wrist spinner was decent with the ball throughout the T20i duels. Though he did contain the runs to some extent, he failed to big any major wickets in the 3 match contests.
Siddharth Kaul ( 3.5/10)
He did a decent part from his end in the 3rd T20i at Bristol. It was good to see him bowl under such testing conditions against some of the most destructive hitters of the game.
It wasn’t the best debut for Chahar, but it would have surely garnered him some experience of bowling under pressure situations, that too when it’s the series-deciding duel. He will improve for sure in the series to come.
Team India player ratings will certainly be put to test in the upcoming ODI series against the favourites of the 2019 World cup contest.
