If you notice a light emanating from the back of your iPhone 12, you have activated the device’s flashlight. This technique also applies to the 12 Mini, the 12 Pro, and the 12 Pro Max.
Turn Off the Flashlight Using the Lock Screen
When your iPhone’s screen awakens from standby mode, a lock screen will appear. Tap and hold the flashlight icon in the lower-left corner of the screen to disable the flashlight from the lock screen.
After a time, the iPhone will thump or vibrate slightly to indicate that it has been turned off. To switch it back on, tap and hold the flashlight icon once more, and you’ll soon be illuminating the darkness.
