Netlfix network productions featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Sacred Games has landed into a political trouble. The actor’s dialogue was found to be defaming in regards to late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. A congress leader from Kolkata filed a suit against the Netflix productions and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for the words and gestures used against the Former Prime Minister.

Sacred Games didn’t spare anyone

A criminal mastermind Ganesh Gaitonde played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Vikramaditya Motwane’s directorial Sacred Games has showcased a bold script. The actor is found using derogatory remarks for the former Prime Minister of the country, Late Rajiv Gandhi.
The episodes point out at the 1975 Emergency, imposed by Indira Gandhi. Further the government’s measures regarding the Bofors scandal and Rajiv Gandhi’s indiscretion in the 1985 Shah Bano case. Rajiv Gandhi is accused of choosing politics over women’s rights. History is neatly stitched in the narrative. Furthermore, the script has been a display of unsparing mockery.

The web series which is co directed by Anurag Kashyap has also hit the headlines for making the co actress Kubra Sait shoot for bold scenes. “This is not my choice, but the script needs it”, says Anurag dodging the question. Alongside Nawaz, Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte are renowned Bollywood Celebrities in the cast of Sacred Games.

Rajiv Kumar Sinha, a Congress Candidate from Kolkata recently filed a complaint to Kolkata police on the actor’s remarks for the former Prime Minister.

He says, “Shah Bano took her husband to court and won. Also the prime minister told her to shut up and overturned the court’s judgement. Even Hindus criticised him. Therefore to please them, Ramayan, the TV show, aired every Sunday morning when the entire country glued to their televisions.”

“Besides that the serial has also crossed all the limits of decency,” Mr Sinha added in his complaint and requested that a FIR be filed.

Netflix’s first original Indian series Sacred Games aired its episodes from July 6th, 2018. It has already created a lot of noise in the first week. The show airs remarks over the former minister as well as some bold scenes. As a result, the series is now booked with a complaint along with the production team and actor Nawazuddin Sidiqqui.
